Changes to the CityNews Insider Club

In order to improve our Insider Club program, we are making changes to the experience for users of citynews.ca.

You can still subscribe to our alerts and newsletters in a simplified format, without logging in. If you wish to end any of your existing subscriptions, you may do so at any time using the “unsubscribe” link found at the bottom of any one of our emails.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What happens to my old Insider Club account?
Your former "Insider Club" account on citynews.ca, containing your username and other personal details no longer exists in its former state. At this time we cannot confirm what, if any, personal information from your old account will be carried forward upon the launch of the new insiders club. Once these details are available we will make them known to our audience.

What happens to all of my subscriptions?
Your subscriptions remain unchanged.
You will continue to receive whatever emails you were subscribed to until such time as you choose to unsubscribe.
You may unsubscribe at any time using the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of any email past or present.

What happens to all of my contest entries?
Your contest entries remain unchanged.
Any entries you have made to our contests, such as the Weather Guarantee are still valid and accounted for.
As you do not need to sign in to enter our contests, you can continue to do so as before, entering your details when required.

How do I change my email address?
As there is no longer an account associated with your email, you cannot 'change it'. If you wish to subscribe to newsletters from a new address, simply sign up using that address, and click "unsubscribe" at the bottom of the email from whichever account you want to stop receiving them.

How do I subscribe to a newsletter now?
To subscribe to a newsletter, head to the newsletters page and perform the following steps:

  1. Check the boxes next to whichever alerts or newsletters you'd like to receive
  2. Enter you email in the field provided and click sign up
  3. A confirmation email should arrive in your inbox, clicking the link inside it will confirm your subscription

What do I do if I am not getting emails I have subscribed to?
Please allow sufficient time for the confirmation email to arrive. We also ask that you attempt to subscribe more than once following the instructions above before reaching out.

If you have made subsequent attempts, and waited patiently without result, please contact us via the form below to outline the issues you are experiencing so we may help.

How do I unsubscribe from a newsletter now?
You may unsubscribe from any email at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of the email you wish to stop receiving. At this time there is no way to manage this preference on the actual CityNews site, it must be done from an email link.

What do I do if I am still getting emails I have unsubscribed from?
Occassionally system errors can cause a delay in updating user preferences, we ask that if you receive another email shortly after unsubscribing that you wait for a second erroneous email before seeking assistance.
